Geez, has it really been that long? You know, it's really one thing to say, but an entirely different thing to do! Funny how the audio trainings that interest me the most deal with that very subject!
SUCCESS IS AN EXTREMELY MECHANICAL PROCESS.
This is so significant i'll repeat it again.
SUCCESS IS AN EXTREMELY MECHANICAL PROCESS.
This is the very principle I've been contemplating over and over again in my head. This comes from none other than T. Harv Eker and Peak Potentials.
The mechanical process is as follows:
Take Action -> Get Feedback -> Make Corrections ... lather, rinse REPEAT!
I will eventually attain my goal. How many times do you think actors go through this to get the perfect shot? Or your lab reports in school? Or even your relationships?
It's such a simple formula. Yet it doesn't happen like that in practice.
All the B.S. in the world is stopping me. "When I get more money I'll..." or "When I have more time..." or "I'm not prepared..." or "I'm afraid of failure..." bla blah balah blahabalab B.S.!!!!
Thinking too much. It is the natural protective mechanism of our mind and all it takes is a realization. That this mechanism exists to protect us. But it inhibits success. And the magical formula.
BE WILLING TO MAKE MORE MISTAKES.
And the process then becomes mechanical. Expect mistakes. Each mistake is a learning experience and it brings you one step closer to your goal!
I can't elaborate on this in one simple blog. If you have the slightest interest in success... I can't help but advertise the Peak Potential Millionaire Mind Intensive Seminar.
I attended the Millionaire Mind evening with a few friends last week and we signed up on the spot for the 3 day weekend intensive seminar. We may even trek to Tdot for the intensive because of scheduling conflicts! Torontonians, you can hop on with us if you'd like. If it's anything like the evening... it's gonna rock MY SOCKS!!!
I found this nugget of information truly significant. Significant enough that I'd have to keep it in my blog for my own memory.
"The fact is people fall into 3 distinct categories with respect to "finances":
1. Deficit position (in debt), 2. Break-even position (just getting by, but debt-free), 3. Surplus position.
It would be very easy to "trick" oneself into believing, that if one were in category one or two, all one must do is earn more money, and then one would automatically graduate into the thrid category. But of course this is not necessarily true. For if a person is in a deficit financial position, it mean that they are in the "habit" of spending more money than they earn. Similarly, if they are in a break-even position, they are in a habit of spending everything they earn. Since we are all "creatures of habit,"it follows that earning more money would not necessarily change our overall financial position."
- Bob Procter, in You Were Born Rich chapter 2 on How Much is Enough
The first realization that I had while reading this, was that I started out with a Break-even position when I got my first paycheque EVER. Then I learned about something called credit. Many forms of it. And now find myself in the Deficit position. And it's entirely true. We are creatures of habit. I have this habit to INSTANTLY GRATIFY myself with worldly (and PRICEY) possesions when I'm looking to just FEEL good. I built up a habit of this, that now has me in the hole several thousands! If you are in this position, you know how bad that feels. In the back of your stomach you can feel that debt consuming you (not to mention your paycheque). Thank goodness I've started managing my money, and managing the right way. Trust me, it feels... liberating.
Here's an another interesting tidbit by Bob Procter. Never focus on your debts. What you focus on expands. Here's his advice. For all your creditors, write out a letter. You know what, I'll just type it out since I think it's so GREAT!
"Dear Whomever:
As you know, I am in debt to you for $_______, and I intend to pay you in full, plus interest. In order to achieve this goal, I have been devising a plan during the past few days to put myself in a stable financial position. To this end, I have opened a "Debt Clearance Account" (DCA), and twenty percent of my income is going directly into that account. That will enable me to have sufficient resources to live on, wihtout worry or stress, and it will prevent me from failling further into debt.
Each week (or month) you will receive a check for $____ from my "DCA," until my account with you is clear. I am aware that this is not the figure I had previously agreed to pay you, but I'm sure you will be understanding, and appreciate what I am doing. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I am quite excited about my new plan and if you would like to have me review them with you so that you might help others who are in your debt, I would be pleased to do so.
That you in advance for you kind cooperation.
Have a wonderful day!
Sincerely.
John Doe
Understand that your letter is a statement of fact and not a request--it is you who is in charge of your finances, not your creditors!...
... you will find that 95% of the people, to whom you write, will be most cooperative."
Now, I just found out that all 4 of my creditors can be paid through my RBC online account. I just checked my invoice/bill with them, searched their name on the Royal Bank payee list, entered my account # and voila! To think for the passed two years I had to go to 4 seperate locations in person... this saves so much time.
And here's another tip from T Harv Eker on debt repayment. Make it systematic. Royal Bank Online gives me the option to do pre-authorized payments weekly/monthly/yearly or whatever I want. So every month I pay each creditor on one day and the bank does this automatically! It's SYSTEMATIC. I never have to think about it. It's so SIMPLE. Doesn't that FEEL good. Yes or yes?
"You must acquire the habits and skills of managing a small amount
of money before you can have a large amount. Remember, we are
creatures of habit, and therefore the habit of managing your money
is more important than the amount."
I've been listening to audio seminars by T Harv Eker when I can. Becoming financially free. There's so many ways to explain that. But T.H.Eker puts it best.
When your passive income surpasses your expenses, then you are financially free.
To put into my context, it's when I have an income that grows while I sleep, and is always more than suffcient to provide my daily necessities and "needs".
That definitely won't happen at a job that trades my hours of time for income. I've always liked the idea of owning/starting a business. Starting something systematic/duplicateable and becoming a chain, eventually just selling the system. I fully intend to go this route!
Did you know we have a system in place here to provide all the necessary tools and resources you'd ever need to start up as a young entrepreneur? Youth Employment Services Montreal is a non-profit that helps in all aspects of entrepreneurship! I attended one of the workshops on Thursday with Cj. It should definitely be high on your list if you have an idea you'd like to get started. http://www.yesmontreal.ca
If any of you would like more info or need any help about anything here, please, don't hesitate to ask. It literally means the difference between financial freedom and a habit of debt for some of you. It would be my pleasure to share! It all begins with a FIRST STEP!
It seems there's more interest in "The Secret" than I had anticipated. I'll make it easier for you.

Part 3
Part 4
The Gala with Bob Procter last Thursday was well worth the money. On top of fancy wine and cheese, there were like-minded people who were just as determined to achieve success. They also gave away free copies of Bob Procter's, "You Were BORN RICH".
I can't help but notice the connections between my passed experiences and the books I've read. John C Maxwell talks about "The Winning Attitude". One of the regional trainings in ACN by my favorite and most admired leaders, Carlos Rey began his training of "Elements of Success" with "Attitude is EVERYTHING!". Dale Carnergie's "How to Win Friends & Influence People" is all about positive attitude. Both T Harv Eker and Bob Procter speak about this attitude with their "thought" diagram.
Thoughts -> Feelings -> Actions = Results
Just sitting down and thinking about those people I know... people we say, "That guy has everything he's doing great in school, he has a great job, he's super fit, everybody likes him! He's so lucky!" Just as likely I can think of the opposite. "That guy is so negative. He's no fun to be around... and only bad things happen to him. I feel bad for him. He's so unlucky." Neither of these have to do with luck.
Another point. "The Secret" or the law of attraction states, if you continually focus your thoughts on "x"... having an awareness in your mind about "x" you will attract "x". I have already experienced this. It's called prayer. Ask and you shall receive.
It's different when you have an awareness about it. It works exponentially better.
Arguably the most important character of a successful person is their attitude. The ability to take any situation head on, positive thinking, removing the word impossible from your dictionary is paramount to success. Otherwise you'll fall upon hitting your first obstacle.
"Pursuit of Happyness" with Will Smith comes to mind. I can remember the scene where his own wife doubted his ability to make it big. All the adversity and troubles one after the other kept coming at him. I remember thinking, "Wow! This is one unlucky person!". But we all know what happens at the end before even seeing it.
In any case, the right attitude is something that I continually exercise. There's this big phenomenon going around about this attitude towards the world. I think it's more widely known as "The Secret".
Here's the trailer.
"The Secret" takes the whole attitude thing to the next level of undesrstanding. It's actually very cinematic and at times dramatic, but they do get down to the actual meaning of it all. Plus it makes it a bit more fun to watch. I have a DVD copy if you'd like to borrow it, but I think a quick search on YouTube may provide you with even quicker results.
If it sounds interesting, tune into Oprah tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon as it's suppose to be featured.
Another interesting note, Bob Procter
from "The Secret" will be at The Montreal Science Center tomorrow. I'll
be there for his world premier as well as other wealth strategy tips.
For more info and tickets, they can be found here --> http://www.rrwealthstreams.com/
Do you feel the world is treating you
well? If your attitude toward the world is excellent, you will receive
excellent results. If you feel so-so about the world, your response
from the world will be average. Feel badly about the world and you will
seem to have only negative feedback from life.
- John Maxwell from his book "The Winning Attitude"
